A robocall is a spoken message delivered to a list of contacts by phone. It is the right tool when a text would be easy to miss and the information matters — a closure, a delay, a change of plan.
- The message is urgent and a text would sit unread.
- Your audience is unlikely to read a message on a screen.
- The information is easier to hear than to read, such as a long address or a set of instructions.
- You need to reach people whose language varies, and you want each of them to hear it in their own.
Multilingual campaigns
A voice campaign can be delivered in more than one language. Furcata uses the language already recorded on a contact where it is known, so a single campaign can reach a mixed audience without you splitting the list by hand.
How voice campaigns are billed
Voice is billed by the minute rather than by the message segment. That makes the cost of a campaign a function of how long the message runs and how many people answer. See the pricing page for the current per-minute rate.
Voicemail
When a call is not answered, Furcata can leave a voicemail. Voicemails are transcribed automatically, so what the recipient hears is also available to you as text.
Transcription matters for two reasons. It gives your team a searchable record of what went out, and when a contact calls back and leaves a message, that reply arrives in the conversation view as readable text alongside your SMS threads.
Before you send
- Check that your contact numbers are in international format; a number that cannot be dialled is a wasted call.
- Keep the recording short — the cost is per minute, and a shorter message is easier to absorb.
- Make sure your caller identity is recognisable, so recipients know who called.
- Confirm you have permission to call the people on your list, and that you have a way for them to opt out.
Consent applies to calls too
Opt-out and consent rules are not limited to text messages. A contact who has asked not to be contacted should not receive a robocall either. See the compliance section for how Furcata handles opt-out.
