This guide walks through the shortest path from a fresh sign-in to a message your contacts can receive. It assumes you have access to an account and can sign in.

What you need

  • A Furcata account you can sign in to.
  • A service you can send from, or permission to create one.
  • A phone number assigned to the account.
  • At least one contact, or a contact file to import.

Set up your account

  1. Sign in

Open Furcata and sign in. The sign-in screen offers Google, phone number and Apple sign-in.

  2. Finish the introduction

A short introduction walks through what Furcata does. You can move through all six pages or skip straight to the end with Start Now. Your choice is remembered.

  3. Complete your account details

Open your account settings and work through the steps. New accounts start as drafts so you can fill everything in before going live. Each step must be complete before the account is valid.

Prepare your messaging

  1. Get a phone number

Open Phone Numbers and acquire a number for the country and area you want to reach. Numbers belong to the account, so anyone with owner or admin access can see them.

  2. Create or review a service

A service is where a campaign lives. It holds the contacts, the templates, the sending window and the daily limit for that campaign.

  3. Add contacts

Add contacts individually from a conversation, or import a contact file into a service. Imported files are processed in the background and report their progress.

  4. Write a template

Templates hold the message text and any media. Write one, check the length warning, and send a test message to yourself before you schedule anything.

Send and check

  1. Send a test message

Send a test from the template editor to confirm the wording and the sender.

  2. Review delivery

Open the conversation for the contact to see the message and its current status. Statuses move through the pipeline as the carrier reports back.

  3. Watch your usage

The dashboard totals units, credits and estimated cost so you can see what a send actually consumed before you scale it up.

About the estimates you see

Cost figures shown in the dashboard are estimates. They are displayed in US Dollars and may differ from your billed amount because of taxes, fees and discounts.
