How do I sign in?
The sign-in screen offers Google, phone number and Apple sign-in. Choose the one that matches how your account was set up.
What is the introduction I see after signing in?
It is a short set of six pages explaining what Furcata does. You can read them all or finish straight away with Start Now, and your choice is remembered.
Why is my account not active yet?
New accounts start as drafts while you fill in the setup steps. Each step has to be complete before the account counts as valid.
Can I change my account alias or domain later?
The alias and the domain can only be edited while the account is a draft. Set them before you move the account on.
Messaging
What is the difference between a service and a template?
A service is the campaign: it holds the contacts, the window and the limit. A template is one message that the service can send.
How many messages can a campaign send?
That is the send limit on the service. For a daily service it is the daily cap; for a once service it is the total for that single run.
Why is my message longer than I wrote?
Compliance text is added to outbound messages, telling recipients how to opt out and how to get help. That is part of why a message can use more units than its text alone suggests.
Can I send media?
Yes. Adding media to a template turns it into an MMS and raises the number of units the message may use, from 3 to 10.
Contacts and opt-outs
How do I add a single contact?
Open the conversation with that person and use Contact Info to complete their details.
Why can I not edit a contact phone number?
The phone number is how the contact is identified, so it is shown but not editable from the contact form.
What happens when someone replies STOP?
The contact is marked as unsubscribed and the conversation is archived. The contact keeps their record and history but will not receive further messages.
How does a contact start receiving messages again?
A contact who opted out by text can reply START to subscribe again.
How long are imported contact files kept?
An uploaded contact file is stored as an import record and removed automatically after 10 days. The contacts created from it are kept.
Numbers and usage
Who can see the account phone numbers?
The Phone Numbers page is restricted to account owners and admins.
What is a unit?
A unit is the smallest measure of sending — a segment for a text message, a minute for a call. A long message is split into more segments and so uses more units.
How is cost calculated?
Units are multiplied by the credits that message type costs, and the result is shown as an estimated cost in US Dollars.
Is the cost on the dashboard my bill?
No. It is an estimate and may differ from your billed amount because of taxes, fees and discounts.
