Dashboard tour

Every metric, filter and report on the dashboard, and what it counts.

Share article

The dashboard summarises what an account has sent and what contacts have done in response. It is the quickest way to check that a campaign behaved as expected.

Reading the totals

Each tile shows a count for the selected period. Selecting a tile shows a description of exactly what it counts.

Total

Total number of messages and actions. Each message is counted once, no matter how many segments or minutes it has.

Total Units

Total number of units used (SMS segments, minutes, and so on).

Total Credits

Total number of credits used. This is calculated as units multiplied by the credits per message type.

Total Cost

Estimated total cost incurred for all messages sent. This value may differ from your actual billing amount because of taxes, fees and discounts, and is displayed in US Dollars (USD).

Per-channel totals

  • Total SMS — total number of SMS messages.
  • Total MMS — total number of MMS messages.
  • Total Voicemails — total number of voicemails.
  • Total Phone Calls — total number of phone calls.
  • Total Voice — total number of voice calls placed over VoiceIP.
  • Total Messages — total number of messages that are not SMS, MMS, voicemails or phone calls.

Contact activity

  • Total Actions — total number of actions performed by contacts, such as a form subscription.
  • Total Unsubscribes — total number of unsubscribes performed by contacts, whether through an unsubscribe link or by phone call.
  • Response Rate — the share of messages that received a response.

Filtering the view

The dashboard is filtered before the totals are calculated.

  • Date Filters — a dropdown of ready-made ranges: Today, Yesterday, This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month, This Year and Last Year. Choosing one applies it immediately.
  • From and To — an explicit date range, for a period the ready-made options do not cover.
  • Direction — restrict the view to inbound or outbound messages. This control is not shown to client-level users.
  • Sort By — order the results by account, name, business name, type, direction, total, units, credits or cost, with an Order control to switch between ascending and descending.
  • The filter menu also offers contact, type, country, language, sentiment, date and service ID, so a report can be narrowed to one contact or one service.

The All Messaging Services tile is a total rather than a filter: it counts every messaging service together, including SMS, MMS, WhatsApp and phone calls.

Reports

Two reports sit alongside the dashboard totals and use the same filters.

  • Usage Report — what was consumed over the selected period.
  • Messages Report — what was sent over the selected period.

Estimates are not invoices

The cost shown on the dashboard is an estimate. It is not a bill and does not include taxes, fees or discounts. Use it to compare periods and spot unexpected volume, not to reconcile an invoice.
