Compliance and best practices

Consent, opt-out, sender registration and the habits that keep a messaging programme healthy.

Messaging is regulated, and the rules are enforced by the carriers who deliver your messages, not by Furcata. This section explains what is required of you, what Furcata does on your behalf, and the practical habits that keep a programme healthy.

The requirements below are general and apply widely, but they are not exhaustive and they are not tailored to you. For anything consequential — political messaging, healthcare, regulated industries, cross-border campaigns — take advice from someone qualified in your jurisdiction.

  1. Have permission. Message people who asked to hear from you, and be able to show that they did.
  2. Honour opt-out immediately and permanently. It is not a preference you can reset.
  3. Identify yourself. A recipient should be able to tell who is messaging them and how to stop it.

Start with consent

Consent and opt-out is the page that governs everything else. Read it before you send your first campaign.
